As seasoned stalwarts of the Portuguese west coast, this was an exciting new adventure for us to dip our toes into the eastern Algarve, and it didn’t disappoint.
From the charming cobbled streets of market town Moncarapacho, through the no-nonsense fish market and harbour side restaurants of Fuzeta to the gritty / salty port town of Olhão all make for a perfect surrounding ‘support act’ to the real star of the show, The Casa.
You see, the thing is, you just don’t really want to leave it.
I could wax lyrical about this lovely retreat, and much is written below of how perfect it is, so without trying to repeat too much, it simply has everything you desire and it just keeps giving and at the same time – it is beautifully detailed – Nige and FI have done any visitor proud, with a very cooly designed eye on the details. Most Portuguese villa rentals are still stuck in the 90’s – but this is an interior designers wet dream of a mood board, come to life.
Every space is meticulously thought through and each one offers a perfect place to chill, cook, doze, eat, get massaged, sunbathe and just generally relaaaaaaax in an awesome and welcoming environment. With 2 iPods crammed full of blissful beats, for both inside and outside on the terrace or poolside, your soundtrack to an awesome (alco)holiday is ready to press play on arrival. Eat, sleep, chill, repeat! xxxx

I loved the pool, I was in it all day, everyday, and I loved jumping on the inflatables. Longest I was in was 2 hours 40 minutes, I went a bit pruney!

I loved the Casa, especially the Hammock, my mum and dad couldn’t get me out – I loved chilling there, the jeux de boule at sunset, and the food on the BBQ – and the frosty chocolate milks in the fridge!

Just a short drive from the airport and we were at The Casa. Pulling into the driveway we could tell we were in for a treat. Crossing the threshold into the tiled entrance hall and stepping into the open plan kitchen / diner the mix of traditional Portuguese décor with contemporary modern design ideas works fantastically well.Everything about the place is relaxing. Chilling by the pool, sunbathing on the pool deck, reading on the rooftop, lunching on barbecued fresh fish under the shaded top deck – you name it and you can do it at The Casa. But, if you are feeling adventurous, and you can drag yourself away form this tranquil haven, you don’t have to go far to have more fun. Dinner in Moncarapacho, early morning coffee and pastel de natas in Olhao, swimming in the sea at Fuseta, taking a boat ride to one of the other great beaches or treating yourself to a lovely evening in Tavira. As each day came and went we relaxed more and more. By the time our 10 days were up we were as rested as we have been for a very long time. Combine that with great suntans and some very good food and its easy to understand why we will be back as soon as we can. Thanks Nigel and Fiona – it was perfect.Alan & Louise, Warwick
The Casa – A slice of paradise!
From the moment we arrived until leaving almost 2 weeks later we were blown away by how much love we felt there.
We kept discovering different ways to enjoy the amazing outdoor spaces, the shaded deck & lounge area (perfect for a massage), the pool and the roof terrace.
All areas can be enjoyed from the most comfortable sofas, sun-loungers, deck-chairs or hammock.
Inside The Casa the attention to detail is quite frankly jaw-dropping.
All done in a beautiful rustic Portuguese style with everything you need to feel at home.
A rain-shower in the bathroom, super-comfy beds plus a lovely indoor lounge and fully equipped kitchen completed a wonderful holiday.
The Casa’s location is perfect for discovering the charming and un-spoilt Eastern Algarve.
Pristine beaches and fishing villages are just short drives away and you are spoilt for choice with the quality of the seafood restaurants wherever you go.
Nights were spent watching swallows during beautiful sunsets before the stars lit the sky, all from The Casa’s gorgeous hilltop location.
We are already planning our dates for 2016 and can’t wait to hear the neighbour’s Cock-a-doodle-doo again!
